I'm baccccck!

I've taken a hiatus from all things technological. Ok that's not entirely true. I still use my email, I used my phone (which has email, chat, and gps), and I ordered clothes on line. So to say I've taken a break from technology is a false statement. However, I have taken a break from the bliggity (blog) and the ever time consuming Facebook, of which I dont' see myself returning to anytime soon. Anyhoo...I've done too much in the past few months to catch you up on.
But what has really brought me back to the blogging world is what happened at Sugarland concert this past Saturday. I need an outlet, a place to vent, and to have this out there for some child to see one day. There is a rule, perhaps not a concrete law rule but one that should be followed if you were not born and raised in a barn. It's more of a courtesy, common knowledge if you will. Or so I thought until the night of the concert. I know it may not sound like a big deal but imagine this; you've gotten to the concert, found a perfect area with your best friend and have laid down your quilt. Imagine sitting there next to gaggles of high schoolers a little too close for comfort, so you move your quilt a couple of feet away so you can stretch out. Imagine them now stepping on your blanket. Stepping on it to get to where their friends are, stepping on it because they're standing in a pack and dont' understand spacing. Then Megan and I leave to go to the bathroom and to get some food, we come back to 5 little drunk high school girls wearing cowboy boots standing in the MIDDLE of said quilt. Rude, rude, rude. Now I'm not really sure where I learned not to step on other people's blankets ( I bet it was from my parents when I was younger though) but this lesson must be taught again. I mean it's like me going to the beach and ignoring the fact that I'm stepping on other people's towels with my wet sandy feet. It's the same thing except with a blanket and grass. How that doesn't translate over is beyond me. I had to breathe a couple of times and remind myself it's not a good idea to pull a 17 year old girls hair.

Not even the worst of it.

I get that this isn't such a big deal but it bothered me and I just wanted to put out a reminder for everyone to please remember it's rude and inconsiderate to step on other people's blankets...ESPECIALLY with your shoes on. The summer has ended and along with it laying out on blankets for outdoor concerts. But next summer will be here before you know it so please be cognisant of where you're putting your muddy ass feet. Thanks.

Smile Pretty

I don't care, I'm doing it. I'm going to go home, grab my 10% off coupon and go to Best Buy. I've been pretending that I can be ok with having Megan and Katie upload pictures to my Wal-Mart account for me to have. I've been pretending I can use Dave's camera as my own. The fact of the matter is that I can't. I NEED my own camera. And I've held out as long as I can. I have things going on this summer and I want to be able to document them and do them at my pace (which is usually faster than Spaz and Megan's.) No offense.  You know me I want it when I want it, and that is usually NOW rather than later. Terrible I know. I'm a brat (Dave reminds me daily.)
Plus I think if I keep hounding my sister and best friend for these pictures I'm going to drive them insane. I can be somewhat of a hammer. You know the term…I hammer a point to death until the nail is embedded deep into whatever surface. My dad also calls me and my mom OTM's. We have One Track Minds (OTM). Now this differs from boy's one track minds. Mom and mine is about whatever it is we want to get accomplished, do, go see, get, etc. There was an incident in Hawaii with my family and my mom's OTM. There was a screaming match and the word divorce was used. The leaving you process for friends and sisters is a lot less complicated than filing for divorce and deciding who is going to take the kids. In my best interest and theirs I'm going out to buy a brand new, pretty, shiny, non-blurry camera. So really guys this is for YOU, not me. How selfless.
And it'll make the blog a lot more interesting. I promise this to you...all 4 people that read it. ;-)

Um No

Sorry, No offense to this guy but seriously? Really? Gah!

I read today on one of the blogs I follow about proposal planning. Yeah for real. Now I'm all for engagement party planning help, wedding planning, etc...but paying someone to help you plan your proposal? No thanks. You're going to pay someone who doesn't know your girlfriend to come up with something? This is crazy. Call her best friend. Call her mom. Call her long lost aunt that knew her in her pretty pretty princess phase. Call someone that KNOWS her. Hopefully by this point in your relationship you know her well enough to know what she would want and don't need a perfect strangers help.
This also takes away from the intimate moment of it all. Having a photogropher pop out at the same time as being asked that question would probably take more of my attention than the question at hand. As much as I like my picture taken, it'd be distracting. Unless you've got my best friend hiding in the bushes somewhere taking secret photos so that I'm enjoying our moment and not worrying about Franz the photographer getting my best angles then I'll pass.
But seriously guys...use a little inspiration, pay attention to what she says...and most of all if she loves you it won't matter if you're in the middle of the grocery store or at home making the bed when you ask.

Dear Santa

I can't believe its December already.  What I can't believe even more is what I heard on the radio this morning. It was a gift idea for Christmas:  a pap smear. Seriously. So I looked up the ad.
STUPID STUPID
or in case you're Jewish Gift

If I received this from my boyfriend my initial reaction would not be good. In the end I think I would appreciate his concern for my health but that is something I take care of and shouldn't ever be a present. AND if this was one of my gifts the other ones better make up for it. Here are actual gift ideas that don't include stirrups or speculums:

scarf's
purses
a body massage
gift card
sweaters
picture frame

If you guys are struggling on what to get your special lady this year the default should never be a medical exam. Period.
