Limbo

I'm growing out my hair. An easy statement to make, but a harder process to follow. You see I've never been good at waiting, and hair doesn't grow 8 inches overnight. I'm an instant gratification kind of girl and it doesn't help matters that I'm incredibly indecisive too.

Right now, I'm in the in-between stage, with both my hair and my life. And let me tell you both don't look pretty. So, my hair. I finally stopped dying it years ago, and have accepted (and now love) my brunette coloring. I've gone from pretty long hair to chin length in a single hair salon session. I'm pretty flexible when it comes to trying a cut, or a style. What I'm not too good with however is the wait for it to grow out again. I get to the point in the middle of the process and I just get annoyed that I'm not at the end stage yet OR I give up and chop it.

Much like my hair I sometimes get the same feelings about my life.  I feel like I know where things are going but there is nothing I can do to make them get there faster. I simply have to wait...which we all know by now that I am not good at. Unlike my hair, I don't want to just give up and throw things away, I'll keep pressing on, but it's difficult. I figure that maybe by the time I look in the mirror again and see my long locks, that I'll be seeing the changes in my life too. Here's to hope, patience, and the knowledge that the good things always take time.

A journey of struggle---a picture documentation

OK ok so let's first comment on the bangs...terrible. But look at the length....long.

To the left...summer before sophomore year of college. Cut 11 inches off for Locks of love. Blunt cut...not good.

To the right: Sophomore year, Thanksgiving. Trying the bangs again, and dyed my hair black.

Senior year of college. Cute "Posh" Beckham cut.

Then I tried the body wave.

and THIS is the in between stage...can you say it with me....YUCK.

  1. Lauren, you are one of my favorite people to look at. You always look like you are having fun and you always look good!! Every haircut/style/color in those pictures look good on you! Truly I don't think you could go wrong! (with both the hair and life!)
