Spoooooktacular weekend

I haven't written in a while but this past weekend was so much fun I can't help but share. Friday, Dave and I drove up to West Point for a football weekend. We stayed with an old family friend of mine who I used to babysit for. It was crazy to see all four of their kids have grown up!

The weather was perfect, it was  little chilly but not unbearable. ARMY won which was an amazing treat. I loved the Black Knights that parachuted onto the parade field and into the stadium.

You can read West Point on their parachute.
Then on Sunday after some quality time with my baby I headed to my parents house for a good ol' fashioned Halloween party.

The picture to the right is from the neighbors house. All month long they have had these skeletons in their lawn doing something different every day (playing frisbee, playing poker, sailing a boat, etc). It was only fitting that on Halloween they actually trick-or-treat.

We decided to kick it old school, like 3rd grade style, and have a Halloween party. Now I know that for most 20-somethings Halloween is an excuse to dress slutty and drink (like people really need an excuse to drink.) But my friends and I are a little different and with it falling on a Sunday and all of us having work the next day we kept it low key. Although I'm pretty sure at one point we were all on a sugar high because we were laughing pretty hard for no particular reason.
There was apple bobbing, caramel apple dipping, pumpkin carving, handing out candy to neighborhood kids, making s'mores outside on a fire pit...in other words utter awesomeness.

And of course I don't like to just brag about what I've been doing but make some sort of point. So here it is: quality over quantity. I may not have a million friends but I'm so happy and blessed with the wonderful people I'm lucky enough to call my friends and family. I can't stress it enough because I once was that person ( a prior sorority girl) who thought that quantity mattered. Except when you're on the side of the road with a broken down car and you have a million friends but no one to call to help you, there's something wrong. So even though I wasn't sure we were going to be able to make a full week, we did! And I'm so glad I have all of those "days" in my life. Thanks Monday for making the fins and being all crafty with the lettering...you rock!
                                                                SHARK WEEK!
                                                                        shark attack!

*Oh and by the way I totally just widened my blog myself! So proud. Go techie, go techie. Alright, so I'm not that technical but I do know how to Google answers and follow simple instructions.
