KA-POW...right in the kisser.
I was told this week by a co-worker that I should take up boxing. Six months ago I would have laughed at the idea, but now I'm considering it. OK so maybe not kick-boxing or anything too strenuous but some sort of physical activity to get my aggression out, and to get me into shape. Don't get me wrong, I'm not fat by any means, but I could use some work. As my sister says I'm a, "skinny, fat girl." Which I think means that as a stick figured woman I shouldn't get winded walking up 3 flights of steps. (It's true, it happens.)
My goal for this week is to check out a gym by my house and call around to find out pricing. I don't need just a membership, I need a personal trainer. My boyfriend said he would whip me into shape, and I gratefully declined. I also declined Tera's gracious offer to work out with me. The thing with working out with your friends and relying on them to help get you into shape is when I say, no not tonight I want to go home and watch Glee, and they push, I'll get mad, and in the end I'll end up doing what I want anyways. With a trainer 1) I'm paying for them so I'll feel I have to go 2) someone will be counting on me to show up and 3) I won't look like an idiot wandering around the gym so I'll want to go.
To quote Legally Blonde: "exercise gives you endorphins--endorphins make people happy and happy people just don't [punch people at work]...they just don't."
In order for my sanity, and for the safety of those around me, I will start a work out regimen. I hope sometime soon I'll get on the ball with this. I'd like to take a Zoomba class because I hear they are a lot of fun. I'd also like to take dance lessons sometime in the future. I've tried Pilates, and I like it, but I'd prefer something that I don't have be quiet during. If I want to relax and not talk, I'll go get a massage.
I've got the body that will get into shape pretty fast I think. The problem is just finding the time and motivation to do it. So here's hoping that things get in place, my butt gets into gear, and by February I'll be able to go up FOUR flights of stairs breathing normally.
