Where Bad Dates Go To Die

The title of this entry is misleading, I'll just get that out there up front, but it's more of an attention getter than "The good date I had last night". Ya know. So now that I've got ya, let me tell you about it.
It started, much to my chagrin, with a walk across the Key Bridge into Georgetown. It had been raining all day, but luckily cleared up in time for the date. We got across the bridge with minimal whining from me (even though I was in heels!)

Joe had made reservations for 6 but it only took us 20 minutes to get across to Georgetown so we had some time to kill. He told me not to worry, that he had a plan, that I didn't have to worry about anything but complaining. Sounds mean, but I tend to complain a bit, and that's how Joe and I work...we're not too nice to each other.

Anyways he steered me into a Barnes and Noble and I must say I was excited. I purchased the new Nicholas Sparks, and Mitch Albom books. But that wasn't the cute part. Joe told me he was looking for a special book, he then led me to the third floor to the children's section. As soon as I saw where we were going I knew what he was doing. I had mentioned weeks before hand when we saw a commerical for the movie Where the Wild Things Are that I, as a child and adult, had never read the book. So he rememberd this and took me to read it. It was unexpected, and so thoughtful.

We then went to Mie N Yu on M St. It this amazing restaurant that serves dishes from countries on the Silk Road. We had Dim Som as the appetizer, and split Bulgolgi for the maindish. I loved the food, especially because they had my favorite Korean dish: kimchi. It was spicy, and I liked it! But the highlight of the restaurant was the bathroom. It was so awesome. Go there and check it out for yourself.

Good food + thoughtfulness + witty banter = good date.

Step up your game boys...
